Scope and content
In 1863 the Alexandra Park Company was formed and the site remained in the hands of private companies until 1900. The first Palace opened in 1873 but sadly burnt down sixteen days later. In 1875 the second palace opened. In 1900 the site passed into public ownership by an Act of Parliament. The trusteeship has variously been taken over by the Greater London Council (1965), London Borough of Haringey (1980), and is now managed by the Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust with Alexandra Palace Trading Ltd managing the commercial aspects. This series contains minutes and associated papers of the governing bodies as well as correspondence and papers relating to transfer of governance.
